Questions / Concerns?
When choosing a web development team there are a few things that we think should be important to ask. If you decide not to use our services, please make sure that the firm you choose can offer you a top notch job. A lower price from the kid down the street may be attractive, but remember, you get what you pay for.
Q What do they use for development?
A If they answer with front ****, find another developer. If a client comes to us with a site developed in front ****, we usually have to re-create the site entirely. Front **** adds in their own type of coding that does not exist in regulated code. Also, the design that comes from this program usually has an unprofessional look and feel.
Q Do they optimize their graphics?
A If they don't, people won't visit your site. One of the most important things in web design is page load time. If it takes too long for a page to load, your visitor will leave and not return.
Q Can we visit or call your references?
A Be sure to see their work before you sign a contract. There are some individuals out there with no experience running their own web development companies and their work shows it. Some developers claim to be developers but use an HTML editor that builds the content for them. What does that mean? If something goes wrong, could they understand and write the code from scratch to get your site back online in a hurry. Online presence is extremely important, make sure that your presence is a reflection of your company and your developer and hosting facility is reliable.
Q How do they handle Online Marketing?
A If they don't market your site, no one will find it. It is so important that your site is marketed with the search engines. Also, if they don't know how to do it properly, your site won't get listed.
Q Why does the developer down the street only charge $300.00?
A Good Question. For the experience maybe. Some developers consider themselves to be developers but do not have the reputation or the work examples to show you. This is where the question arises, If you had the choice between a Jaguar or an Escort, which would you choose?
Q Why is the look and feel important?
A Your website should reflect your business. If a potential client comes to your site and makes a decision based upon appeal and ease of use, would they choose you?
Q Are your designs "out-of-box" designs? (Will they look identical to my competitors as far as content and feel go?)
A No way, in fact, the big difference between Elite and other development firms is that we do our best to make a difference. Every site that we build has its own unique custom look and feel.
Q What is a website optimizer? Is it worth me paying a monthly fee for someone to "optimize" my site?
A A person claiming to be a website optimizer that doesn't have access to change the wording or the files on your site has a limited amount as to what they can do to help you get a better listing with the search engines. Listen to your developers suggestions and hope that they study the search engine changes and algorithms. This is crucial. If your developer has no technical background, your site is in big trouble. There's the chance that no one will ever find it.
